Description
Our club focuses on educating students on the applications of 3D printing, additive manufacturing, and other rapid Prototyping technics. We offer technical workshops and services for students of all skill levels from those who have never heard of 3D Printing up to students using advanced mods. Our machines allow us to print parts at speeds, quality and strengths that are unavailable or too expensive for students. Students can come into our lab and get 1 on 1 advice on their projects, focusing on sustainability, printability and manufacturability. We've helped 50 students since we were refounded.
How will donations be used?
Donations will go directly to buying material (Filament) for the club. Each roll costs $20-30 and most prints take 50 to 150 g of the 1000kg roll so every ten prints we need to replace the roll.
- $1000 would fund 40 rolls which translates to 500 prints for students.
- $250 would allow us to purchase a new printer so that we can help get parts out to students even faster.
Additional funds will go to purchasing virgin Pellets so that the club can continue to recycle students' prints and create recycled filament that we can give back to students for free. This helps lower the barrier to entry for the hobby.
Support the 3D Printing Club!
Currently we have to charge students to Print their projects. We only charge enough to cover the expense of material used. This allows us to print at much cheaper rates then anywhere online. The cost to print is a barrier to entry for students. We want to be able to allow them to print parts for their class, club and private projects for free. As soon as we advertise this we know that the amount of students using the club will double if not more and we want to be prepared for this growth.
Why are donations necessary?
Our club can't afford to print for free with the limited funds we have after being re-founded in 2021. Right now material is being bought and gifted to the club by officers out of their own pockets. Even a $20 donation translates to 5 student projects we can print.
