The Chico State Fund is an unrestricted annual fund that helps students and programs with their greatest needs—and exciting opportunities—whenever and however they arise. Whether it's establishing new tutoring centers, funding student travel to present at a conference, or upgrading classroom technology to support simultaneous hybrid in-person and online courses, the Chico State Fund helps fill the gaps between state funding and designated gifts.
Contributions to this fund can be put to use immediately in however they are needed most to support students—providing vital flexibility at a time when just small percent of Chico State's overall funding comes from the State of California. This flexibility is crucial in times of crisis like the pandemic, during which the Chico State Fund supported students in need with 360 laptops for online learning, increased campus Wi-Fi access, provided a transformational "Go Virtual Institute" to teach faculty how to convert their courses, and more.
Simply put, your gift together with thousands of others helps meet transform the student experience at Chico State. Thank you for your support!
Your donations provide not only financial support, but also great inspiration to our students. As one scholarship recipient said, “It blew my mind to know that people believed in me. They don’t know if I am going to flunk out tomorrow, but they believe that I can be successful—and that makes me believe in myself.”
Chico State Fund contributions have allowed us to distribute nearly $135,000 so far this year to dozens of programs and projects ranging from developing a student-run water quality lab and supporting student professional travel to funding textbook scholarships for undocumented students and removing financial barriers to law school admissions preparations.
