Description
Current funding supports the team with travel but there are many other needs of the program that can’t be supported by these funds. This activity is often life-changing for the students. They are part of a community and find their voice through competitions. Once they have participated in forensics, they are part of the forensics family for life.
How will donations be used?
Donations will be used for two main events.
- End of Year Forensics Banquet (approximately $1,500 for food and team awards per year)
- Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Fall 2026 (approximately $2,000 helps cover the Forensics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony which is every 3 years)
Support the Speech and Debate Team!
It is important to build comradery among the team and encourage their support of each other instead of compete with each other. Many students search for a place to fit in or an organization or activity to participate in. Those who stumble on speech and debate are accepted and share in the love of the activity that helps create life long bonds. It is a benefit that it revolves around an academic activity. The skills they learn and acquire are used throughout their life.
Why are donations necessary?
Donations are necessary to bring back the End of Year Forensics Banquet to Celebrate the success of the team and award students on the team for improvement and other achievements.
Donations will also fund the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony which acknowledges alums who have achieved national success while participating in Forensics. This Ceremony is every 3 years.
