The Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice Washington, D.C. Internship Award is for Chico State students receiving academic credit for an internship in Washington, D.C.. The Award is available to all Chico State students, with Department students given preference. This award gives all students, not just those who can afford it, the opportunity to take advantage of one of the most high-impact academic experiences available—an internship in Washington, D.C.
How will donations be used?
Contributing to the Washington, D.C. Internship Award makes a Washington internship available to ALL Chico State students, not just those who can afford it. Here is how Chico State Washington, D.C. interns use these Award funds: •Round-trip airfare to and from Washington, D.C. •Tuition to participate in one of the CSU Washington, D.C. internship programs (CSU Fullerton’s D.C. Scholars and CSUN in D.C.) •Lodging while in Washington, D.C., which is usually about $3,800 (summer) and $4,200 (spring)

If you have done an internship, you know how such a professional experience can have a tremendously positive impact on one’s future life and career trajectory. Without support from this award, a Washington, D.C. internship is out of reach for most Chico State students. The more we can raise, the more Chico State students can intern in Washington, D.C.
