Many of our students are struggling to find the financial resources to earn their college education. The Dare to Achieve Scholarship helps provide both recognition and financial resources for students who have faced extraordinary circumstances to get to and stay enrolled at Chico State. Some challenges faced by past recipients have been working several jobs, not being able to afford rent, being a single-parent family with no additional support, and escaping abusive situations.
How will donations be used?
Students will be able to use the scholarship to offset tuition, housing, food, or any other financial obstacle. Last year, BSS awarded $6,000 in Dare to Achieve Scholarships to four students.
