Description

International students live thousands of miles away from home and are separated from their support systems.  When an unexpected personal, national, or global event happens (civil/political unrest, war, national/global health issue, natural disaster, or financial crisis) it can cause a temporary, but acute, interruption in a student's finances.  Short-term grants act as a bridge to stability until a student's regular financial support can be resumed.

How will donations be used?

International students, who qualify as having a severe economic hardship, are eligible to receive grants to help cover the cost of basic needs until their normal source of funding resumes.

Help International Students with Emergency Grants!

We are asking all folks who value and support international education, and the value these wonderful students bring to campus and Chico, to donate to the International Emergency Grant Fund to provide a temporary safety net to students experiencing short-term financial crises.  International & study abroad alumni, faculty & staff, and all those in the international community...please donate as generously as possible.

Why are donations necessary?

International students do not qualify for state or federal financial aid, and they are not legally permitted to work off-campus without special permission from the US government. All of their funding comes from their families abroad.
