Description
Lacrosse is one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States. However, only about 27% of women play the sport compared to the nearly 71% of men who do. We want to be a part of that change! The Chico State Women's Club Lacrosse team provides the opportunity to build life-long friendships and help develop life skills in young women by being surrounded by like-minded individuals who are eager to learn and participate.
How will donations be used?
Your donations will be used for:
1. Apparel ($2,000 per year)
2. Equipment purchases (balls & game nets - $400 per year)
3. Team travel ($4,000 per year)
4. Santa Barbara Shootout Tournament ($2,000 per year)
Support the Women's Lacrosse Club!
Without the support of our club parents, alumni, and fans, we would not be able to do as many things as we do, such as travel for tournaments which bring our team closer together in a weekend of games and bonding! With the sport growing in recent years, we are lucky enough to have members gathered to play. We have 22 members this upcoming season and hope to provide a community where all members feel welcomed and valued.
Why are donations necessary?
Help the Women's Lacrosse Club raise $2,000 on Chico State Giving Day! The Chico State Women's Lacrosse team has been an established student-run organization and member of the Western Women's Lacrosse League since 1994. Three decades years later; we have continued to create a community in which those who love the sport, as well as those who are new to the sport, can look forward to coming to practices and traveling for games! A few of the teams we compete against include Cal Poly Slo, UC Davis, Stanford, and UC Santa Cruz.
