Support the Laurel Lee Lusk Memorial Scholarship!

When Laurel passed away at age 60 from cancer, her family wished to honor her memory by creating a scholarship to support aspiring teachers. In fall of 2022, Laurel’s sorority sister Kelley Valentine, led an effort to have a red dogwood tree planted in dedication to Laurel. Her spouse and over 20 members of the alpha chi sorority gathered to pay tribute as the tree was planted. Laurel was a beloved member of the community.

Laurel was a proud alumni of Chico State, graduating in class of 1985 in Liberal Studies, she was a retired teacher after 31 years. While attending school she had to work miscellaneous jobs to pay for her studies, as many students do.

This scholarship was created in her honor to help current students at the university studying to become a teacher, who are also struggling financially. Supporting the Laurel Lee Lusk Memorial Scholarship will continue her legacy of supporting educators and giving back.

Why are donations necessary?
