Description

We are a team of students from rural areas of Northern California.

We are working to share what our communities have to offer and to learn more about how to enhance connections and support between our communities and Chico State.

We recently presented at a National Conference, and interviewed President Perez!

Ways we are making a difference:

  • Finding new and existing ways to connect and interact with our regional partners.
  • Connecting with local communities to asset map and learn more about the amazing places that make up our North State area.
  • Developing ways to connect current rural students on campus. Finding new ways to reflect our communities in our on-campus experiences.
  • Working and meeting with high school students to find out how to support them in seeing themselves at Chico State.

How will donations be used?

Travel to regional schools; our wages; outreach to schools; travel to conferences to share their rural student voices and experiences; on campus student events to connect with other students; iPads to track and share our experiences.

Support the North State Student Ambassadors Program!

Our program provides support for rural students from our service region. We do outreach to regional high schools, and connect with our home counties to build relationships. We hold events, socials, and Power Hours, where we connect on campus resources to students who may not be aware they exist.

Why are donations necessary?

Our program has limited grant funding, and we would like to continue and grow the program to reach new students in rural communities.
