Description
Phi Alpha Theta is Chico State’s chapter of the Historic Honors Society on campus. We work collaboratively with the History Club and department to give students opportunities to bolster their learning experience through the History program. This is done through conference presentations, student written and edited journals, and other events creating a foundation of learning and collaboration for undergraduate and graduate students at Chico State. Our goal is to prepare our students for the job market after graduation and supply them with the necessary tools to achieve their goals within the field of history and other subsequent fields of work.

Support the History Club!
Phi Alpha Theta has been apart of Chico State’s student life and leadership clubs for several decades, providing aspiring historians the opportunity to connect with one another both on Chico State’s campus and with fellow students at other CSUs. We work year-round to ensure students feel safe and welcomed in PAT, allowing their knowledge and creativity to flourish. Our collaboration with the History Club allows students to further their understanding of U.S., Latin American, Asian, African, and European History, while still keeping space for new scholarship from students and alumni alike. Our consistent goal is to work with students to mobilize them and help find their voice among scholars and historians, aiding in their scholarship.
Why are donations necessary?
Donations to Phi Alpha Theta go directly to our student body and their ability to present their work to a large body of scholars in the field of History. Our donations will fund students travel, lodging and meals at the 2025 Phi Alpha Theta Conference. We anticipate at least ten students to join us for this yearly event, but donations afford us with the means to provide for more students' work being shown to the world. We want to give students who otherwise may not be able to afford this opportunity to relish in their successes of their work, while networking with others in their field who may present on similar topics to theirs.
